Why You Didn’t Get The Job!
If you are not a stranger to getting rejection letters, this is for you.
Dear Villager
Would I even be Bambi if I didn’t drop some gems in your inbox?

Earlier last month, we invited some of our Jollof+ users (students and corpers) to intern with us for Customer Service Week. We even hosted a career seminar for them—because, you know, we don’t just do savings, we do growth. 😏
And let me tell you, there was one major gem from that seminar that I just have to share with you.
Ever wondered why you’re applying to tons of jobs and hearing nothing?
Well, it’s because HR uses something called the KSA framework to figure out if you’re the right fit, and you are probably failing at it.
Now, I know you're probably like, “KSA, what’s that?” Let me break it down for you.
K is for knowledge—this is not just about knowing the basics. How deep do you really understand the job or the industry? You can show that you have the knowledge required for a role by showing certifications.
S is for Skills – You’ve got to prove you can actually do the job. Can you walk the talk? It’s not just enough to have certificates. Whether it’s coding, designing, writing, or even frying puff-puff—make sure you can actually do what you claim to know how to do.
A is for Abilities – This one’s the trickiest. It’s not about just being good at the job; it’s about your soft skills. Can you think on your feet? Can you work under stress? How do you handle conflict? These are things they are looking for.
A good example is someone who is great at digital marketing and is very emotionally intelligent but has no certification to prove that they are good at digital marketing. This person does not fulfill the “K” part of the KSA framework.
So yeah, after we dropped this career wisdom on our interns-for-a-day, we asked them about their experience with Jollof+. The feedback? Let me share:
Yaga, a UI/UX designer, was all about the smooth user experience.
Ibukun, a cybersecurity enthusiast, raved about how safe and seamless the app is.
Adesola, another cybersecurity enthusiast, couldn’t stop talking about the 21.6% net interest rate—one of the best in the industry.
But of course, you already know all this because you’re a Jollof+ user. 😉
Now that you’ve got this KSA framework in mind, I hope you’re ready to approach your job search differently. Sharpen those skills, gain more knowledge, and bring that attitude that HR just can’t ignore.
Also, our interns had fun! If you are interested in interning or becoming a campus/NYSC ambassador of Jollof+ in the near future, you can reply to this mail! We will make it worth your time.
Till next time!
Cheers,
Bambi from Jollof+
