Time to Say Goodbye...

If “Time to Say Goodbye” by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman popped into your head when you saw this headline, you deserve a hug! You have fantastic taste in music...
And for those who can't relate, bombastic side-eye!
But, I’m not here to judge your music preferences. (Not entirely). I want to share a story about a time I had to say goodbye to one of my favourite things on this spherical green ball of a planet we call Earth.
Let’s backtrack a bit…

It was then I remembered…
I remembered an article I read long ago about “Devourers of your fruit” – essentially, it talked about how “village people” might be the reason your income seemed to vanish even if you were so good with budgeting.
Given my financial dilemma, I began to wonder if “village people” were messing with my finances – God help me!

As I pondered on the best way to safeguard my money from the evil eyes, my eyes fell on a receipt from my last supermarket visit.
I picked it up and noticed – my favourite biscuit, once N800, was now N2,000.
My “village people” weren’t scrawny-looking old women – they were delicious mounds of mouth-watering, belly-expanding goodness.
To put it in perspective, I bought about 5 of these biscuits every week. I used them to entertain friends and family and I also ate them every single day - Don't judge me!

I was spending about N40,000 on these biscuits every month! If I kept that up for a year, I’d spend N480,000.
If I saved that amount on the Jollof+ app for a year, plus that 21% net interest, I may have to be re-christened “B-Money” because my savings account will be popping!
No one needed to convince me – I immediately stopped buying my beloved biscuit, and I have since gone back to saving every month.
Why am I telling you this story? Many people say they don’t have enough to save – while this may be true for some, you might realise it’s not the case for you.
The N2,000 you spend on parfait every day…
The money you used to buy that bag you can do without…
Should I continue?
You’d find it easier to save if you reduced spending on things you don’t necessarily need.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t enjoy your hard-earned money and spend it on nice things. I’m just suggesting you cut back a bit and save instead.
“I hear you, Bambi, but even if I choose to save more, inflation is not my mate! The purchasing power of the N1,000 I save today will decrease tomorrow.”
You’re right! That’s why we created an app to help you inflation-proof your savings – Jollof+.

When you save with Jollof+, you earn up to 21% NET interest. Yes, NET – no hidden charges. With such high interest, we ensure the purchasing power of your savings is protected from inflation.
You can visit the Google Play Store or App Store to download the Jollof+ app and get started today.
As I wrap this letter up, I must advise you to avoid drinking cold water for the next few days because you will need your voice in good condition.
Why do you need your voice in good condition? Good question!
It seems like you’ll be learning a new song soon. You would need to sing “Time to Say Goodbye” as you wave “au revoir” to unnecessary expenditures and say “hello” to smart savings.
Talk to you soon.
Toodles,
