A Popular Nigerian Musician Caused Wednesday's Flood? 😲

Hello Villager!

Remember when our mothers used to warn us about the power of our words, especially when it came to singing certain songs? We'd brush it off as "old school," but it seems they were onto something after all.

Well, Boys and Girls, it has happened!

When all of you were wooing each other with Davido's "Assurance", did anyone not realize what it could cause?

You sang, "If I ever leave o, make water carry me dey go."

Now, you have served an innocent person breakfast and water is literally trying to "carry us dey go"!

I'm trying to lighten the mood after the rain and floods on Wednesday, especially in Lagos, but it's no laughing matter.

Woosh... Wednesday was tough! The pain, the torment, the torture!

Some of our cars are still coughing up water, and some of us practically interned with Aquaman (Agba swimmers).

And what about those of us who got to work by 11 am? Even HR showed up late (side eye).

As I endured the torturous "normally 1 hour became 5 hours on Wednesday morning thanks to the rain" trip to my office, I mentally listed things I needed to do to avoid going through such stress again. These things are what I want to share with you in today's mail.

1. Finding a safer place - my house almost flooded, and I know some areas in Lagos were spared so I will be moving to such areas (thankfully, I've started using the Jolloflock feature on Jollof+ to save for my next rent).

2. Finding a better remote job ASAP because why endure a 5-hour commute to work? However, I need to take courses and get certifications before I can easily get one that pays well (I'm also using the Ajo+ feature on Jollof+ to save for my CIM UK certification exam).

3. Avoiding "weather for two" antics - why use the money I set aside for certifications and house rent on diapers? If you don't mind "weather for two" antics, I get you. Don't forget to use the Baby Box feature on Jollof+ to save for the consequences of your actions because diapers and baby food are not your mates.

4. Investing in a raincoat and a stronger umbrella - call it two-factor authentication 😎.

On a more serious note, I'm sorry if you suffered losses on Wednesday. I hope you recover swiftly and abundantly.

On another note, rumour has it that a 7-day rain is starting soon?

Sigh, Winter is indeed coming.

Until next time, stay safe and maybe learn how to swim.

Toodles,

Bambi
