Please Say Yes!!
If proposals where they shout "Say Yes, Say Yes" annoys you, you will definitely love this email!
Hello Villager!

You know those proposal videos where everyone is chanting, " Please Say Yes, Please Say Yes"? Well, I witnessed one last week.

A young man asked a girl to be his girlfriend in a fancy public spot, and guess what—she said "No." (“Single Pringles: 1 - Relationship People: 0”)
Now, I’m not trying to be a hater, but a part of me went, "Serves him right!"
I mean, some of us are out here single, while this guy rented out a high-end eatery just to pop the girlfriend question. (sobs in "God when")

Before you judge her too quickly, her reason for saying no was pretty solid. I doubt you’d have said yes either if you were in her shoes.
The girl’s reason? The guy was terrible with money and wasn’t interested in getting better. Word from a friend is that he earns over a million monthly but is always broke and borrowing left and right—a clear sign of budgeting and planning problems.
God forbid!

The poor girl probably didn't want to have to deal with all of that.
I really applaud her decision. It’s one thing to be with someone who’s financially disciplined or at least willing to learn. But if they’re not even trying to change, please run like miss koi koi is chasing you.
If you’re wondering what the red flags of financial indiscipline look like, here’s a quick rundown:

1. They’re allergic to budgeting.
2. Saving is not in their vocabulary.
3. They can’t say no to helping people financially, even when they can’t afford it.
4. Impulse buying is their hobby.
5. They live way above their means.
These are just a few common signs to watch out for.
To those of you who’ve found someone to say yes to or have already said yes, congrats! I’m happy for you (“cries in excruciating singleness”)

As I wrap up this email, I have three questions for you:
1. Would you have said yes if you were that girl?
2. How has your experience been saving with Jollof+? We recently hit an exciting milestone that I can't wait to share with you in my next email.
3. When did people start doing official proposals just to ask someone to be their girlfriend? Why wasn’t I informed???
Talk soon.
Toodles,
